Do you give an AI assistant write access to a live ad account on day one, or let it read for a month first? Plenty of people connect the account and immediately ask it to pause campaigns and move budgets, mostly because the preview step feels like a formality.
I think a read-only stretch is worth it, just not for the reason people usually give. An assistant will produce a confident diagnosis from a few days of data, and you have no baseline yet to tell whether it's right. Say a dental clinic has a bad Tuesday because its booking form broke. An assistant that has only seen three weeks of data may read that as a trend and suggest cutting spend. Reading first gives you time to learn what a normal week looks like in your account, so you can judge the suggestions once write access arrives.
Where do you draw the line?
