Levels, points and badges

Every member starts with limited permissions that open up as they contribute. Here is exactly how points are counted, what each level needs and what it unlocks.

How points are counted

Each topic you open	+5
Each reply you write	+2
Each like you receive	+3
Each reply chosen as the solution	+15
Each post of yours that is removed	−10

Only published posts count; posts waiting for review count once they're published.
Likes on your own posts, and likes and solutions from accounts linked to yours, don't count.
A solution counts when the topic's author marks your reply; marking your own reply doesn't count.
Points are recalculated from these counts every time something changes, and never go below 0.

Opus Growth subscribers are at least level 1, and team members are level 3.
The experts room opens at level 2; private messages open at level 1.
Every topic is reviewed before it's published at every level; replies from level-0 members are reviewed too.
Your level is recalculated automatically. In exceptional cases the team can set a level by hand.

Badges

Badges are earned through contributions and stay on your profile. Click a badge on any profile to check that the member really holds it.
